The Training Center for Countering Transnational Organized Crime is a structural unit of the Law Faculty of TNU, which implements a unified state policy in the field of countering transnational organized crime, education, and research activities.
The Center’s activities as an integral part of the university are aimed at reducing crime rates in the country by preventing illegal actions, researching the scientific foundations of introducing innovations and best practices in countering illegal actions, improving legal education and training for citizens, and strengthening trust in law enforcement agencies and government bodies.
The Center is guided in its activities by the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan No. 265 dated June 30, 2021, “On Approval of the State Program for Combating Crime in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2030,” other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as international legal acts recognized by Tajikistan, and the Center’s regulations on combating transnational organized crime.
AUTHORITY OF THE CENTER
The Center has the following powers:
– implementation of a unified state policy on countering transnational organized crime, education, and research activities in the university’s structural units, especially the faculties;
– studying current issues related to countering transnational organized crime;
– determining priority areas for countering transnational organized crime;
– properly organizing the development of research projects and effectively utilizing them;
– taking measures to use the results of research on countering transnational organized crime in improving current legislation;
– to present reasonable proposals on improving the legal literacy of citizens, ensuring law and order and other measures to counter transnational organized crime;
– Study, analysis and provision of best practices in countering transnational organized crime;
– exercise of other powers in accordance with the regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan.
RIGHTS OF THE CENTER
The Center has the following rights within the scope of its authorized powers:
– conducting discussions and meetings with work teams, faculties, and university students;
– publishing popular science articles and thus identifying relevant areas of countering transnational organized crime;
– developing a list of diploma, master’s, candidate, and doctoral theses on countering transnational organized crime;
– providing official opinions and reviews on topics related to countering transnational organized crime;
– preparation and development of draft regulatory legal acts on improving the current legislation;
– cooperation with ministries and agencies on countering transnational organized crime;
– organization and holding of international and republican conferences, scientific seminars and round tables on countering transnational organized crime.
