FROM THE HISTORY OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES DEPARTMENT, FACULTY OF LAW, TAJIK NATIONAL UNIVERSITY
In modern stage of development learning foreign languages is one of the important problems and preference direction in education of the country. In connection with the given problem providing favorable conditions for teaching and getting new knowledge necessary measures taken by the Government of the country. To overcome difficulties and crisis, negative influence it should be paid great attention to the system of education.
As it is considered by the Leader of nation, Founder of peace and national unity Mr. Emomali Rahmon it must be paid great attention to learning, foreign languages at the same time when we speak about the problem of the branch of education. Our President always notes in his speeches. As the Leader of state thinks about the development of national education is the most important and the main direction of priorities of public policy of the state and Government taking care of education investment for force of human and future of nation. That’s why it is adopted and acts state program on improving and learning Russian and English languages in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period to 2030 on the resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan from 30, August, 2019, № 438.
As it is known world community is in the process of globalization and conflict of cultures. So, we must educate highly-qualified specialists-lawyers who know languages, increasing new international relations, to be competence in world market of labor it was necessary to establish under the law faculty of Tajik National University Foreign languages department in June, 1999. It was by initiatives of Leader of nation, Mr. Emomali Rahmon, leadership of Tajik National University and contribution of former dean of the law Faculty, academician Mahmudzoda Mahkam Azam it began its activity.
First Head of Foreign languages department, is Boboyeva Mavjuda Toirovna, docent, candidate of philological sciences. It was headed by her from 1999 till 2013. In 2013-14 our department was headed by Bekmurodov M.M. from 2014 to 2017 as the head of the Foreign languages department was appointed Salohiddinov V.Yu., docent, candidate of philological sciences. From 2017 to 2023 Nazarova Z.A. headed the department. Mrs. Nazarova Z.A. is docent, candidate of philological sciences. From May, 2023 as the head of the department became Rahmonzoda N.D., docent, candidate of philological sciences.
All the Heads try to take measures for the development and prosperity of the foreign languages department.
There are 8 members in teaching staff: 5-candidates of sciences, Boboyeva M.T., Afzali M.K., Gazieva H.H., Sharipova Z.A., Rahmonzoda N.D., 2-senior teachers Zainiddinov S.F., Shoinbekov O., 1-assistant Sanginov F.A. and secretary Hamroyeva G.A. 2-out of staff Nazarova Z.A., and Safarov H.S. assistant. 2-foreign teachers: Li Su Shia and Li Pei Chindi do their activities.
The following subjects are taught by the teachers for students at our department English, German, French, Arabic and Chinese. All the subjects are provided by textbooks, educational aids, manual teaching, programs and syllabuses.
Scientific research themes for the period from 2020 to 2025 is “Strategy of development and modern content of educational activity in the scope of new requirements of teaching Foreign languages for preparing future lawyers. Teachers of the department do their best for improving languages by the students, increasing quality of teaching and learning at the law faculty and training highly-qualified specialists with knowing languages by lawyers.
During 25 years of labor activity teachers of the department published a number of monographies, textbook, Manuals, methodology and methods of teaching, articles, two and three languages dictionaries, programs for various specialties, including Manual training “English for law students”. From 1999 to 2024 5 members of foreign languages department defended their dissertation successfully.
The teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages works closely with teachers of other departments of the Faculty of Law. Including: – In 2021, together with teachers of the Department of Constitutional Law, a “trilingual Dictionary of terms of Constitutional and Administrative Law” was prepared, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
– In co-authors with the teachers of the Department of Criminalistics and Judicial expertise, 1- manual training for students of the specialty “Criminalistics and Judicial expertise” of the Faculty of Law “Criminalistics studies on crime investigation”, 1 textbook “Terrorism and extremism is a global threat to humanity” were published in English, and 1 textbook (Criminalistics) was prepared in English. They were also directly involved in the translation and editing of the manual training “Constitutional Law in Republic of Tajikistan” in English.
The Department of Foreign Languages closely cooperates with the Bactria Training Center and the Confucius Training Center, and every year second-year students of the Faculty of International Law improve their educational experience and language knowledge in these centers.
Teachers of the department during their work in universities and institutes of the CIS countries-Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tashkent and other countries of the world, such as Germany, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Turkey, China, Spain, France, India, etc.
Teachers of the department constantly present their scientific articles at international, national conferences and seminars of TNU and other universities of the country, initiate scientific conferences, round tables and seminars at the faculty.
