Student scientific circle «human rights» at the department of human rights and comparative law

The Student Scientific Circle «Human Rights» at the Department of Human Rights and Comparative Law of the Law Faculty of Tajik National University is considered one of the most important forms of students’ extracurricular educational and research activities. It was established at the initiative of the department’s faculty members and with the support of the Faculty Dean’s Office, and its goal is to create a scientific and educational environment among students and a real basis for the development of young talents in the field of human rights.

The Circle functions as an open platform for ideas and science, where students, under the guidance of experienced professors, conduct discussions and analyses of pressing issues related to the protection and guarantee of human rights and freedoms, international human rights standards, human rights protection mechanisms, and issues of comparative law. During these discussions, students not only deepen their theoretical knowledge but also develop skills in legal analysis, debate, and public speaking.

In addition, the Circle annually participates in the organization of student conferences, round tables, scientific seminars, and meetings with scholars and specialists in the field of human rights. These events not only facilitate the exchange of ideas and scientific experience but also introduce students to the real environment of scientific and professional activity.

The Circle also pays special attention to identifying and supporting young talents. Students who are actively involved in research work and scientific presentations receive support from the department and the faculty and are recommended for participation in national and international conferences.

Overall, the Student Scientific Circle “Human Rights” is not only an organizational form of students’ scientific work but also a living environment for the development and formation of scientific personalities, which makes a significant contribution to the scientific development of the faculty and the enhancement of young people’s legal literacy.

Annually, within the framework of the Circle’s activities, more than 10 regular meetings are held, where over 30 reports are heard and discussed in Tajik, Russian, and English. The topics of the presentations are mainly devoted to issues of human rights and freedoms, comparative law and human rights protection mechanisms, children’s rights, rights of persons with disabilities, women’s rights, and others.

Every year, the Circle organizes scientific and educational events in honor of important state and historical dates of the country. In particular, scientific circles and festive programs are held on the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Flag Day, and the International Human Rights Day (December 10), in which students actively participate with reports and solemn speeches.

The Scientific Circle “Human Rights” has over 30 members, selected from students in the 1st to 4th years. Active members of the Circle annually participate in conferences, competitions, and scientific and practical events, making a worthy contribution to the development of the faculty’s scientific research environment.
