The Parents’ Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) is a permanent self-governing body of the parents of the Faculty of Law of the National University of Tajikistan. The Association participates in enhancing management, regulating relationships, determining responsibilities, ensuring the interests, and protecting the rights of students. The Association, being a non-political organization, carries out its activities in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan dated June 20, 2024, № 2049 “On Responsibility in the Education and Upbringing of the Child,” and other normative legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The main directions of the Association’s activity include: strengthening the relationship between families and the teaching staff to ensure unity in the educational and upbringing process; carrying out public oversight over the quality of education; considering the opinions of parents when adopting local normative acts affecting the legal rights and interests of students; fostering the initiative of parents and organizing educational work with them on understanding their rights and responsibilities.
The purpose of the Association’s establishment is to support the teaching staff in nurturing socially active students, enhancing patriotism, and fostering an active civic position.
The main tasks include: organizing work with the parents of students to explain their rights and responsibilities; supporting public initiatives for improving and developing the educational and upbringing process; establishing cooperation between the Association and public organizations, the faculty administration, and other structural units of the faculty; monitoring the privileges established by the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan for students of higher educational institutions; cooperating with the faculty leadership in establishing functional ties with cultural and sports institutions for organizing students’ leisure time.
The Association has the following rights: to manage the substructures of the Parents’ Association and resolve their urgent issues at the faculty administration level; to review matters related to assisting students from low-income and orphaned families, protecting and encouraging active students; and to resolve other issues within its competence as defined by the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The main form of activity of the Association is meetings. The Association’s meetings are held within the framework of its activity plan at least once a year.
Members of the Association include: the Dean of the Faculty; the Deputy Dean for Academic and Educational Affairs; academic group curators; and the parents of students.
