Student Scientific Circle “Crime and Punishment” at the Department of Criminal Law and Anti-Corruption

The Crime and Punishment Student Research Club at the Department of Criminal Law and Anti-Corruption of the Faculty of Law at Tajik National University is an important form of extracurricular educational and research activity for students. Created by the initiative of the department’s teachers and with the support of the faculty’s administration, it aims to strengthen the scientific and educational environment among students and create a solid foundation for the development of young talents in the field of law and criminal packaging.

The club acts as a free scientific grid field where students, under the guidance of experienced teachers, discuss and analyze current issues of crime and delinquency and give a proper assessment of offenses. During these discussions, students not only deepen their theoretical knowledge but also develop their practical experience.

One of the main activities of the club is to involve students in research work. Members of the club choose research topics that have both theoretical and practical significance, conduct research under the guidance of teachers, and present their results in the form of scientific articles, reports, and term papers. This process helps students develop their methodological and research skills, preparing them for independent and analytical work.

In addition, the club annually participates in organizing student conferences, round tables, scientific seminars, and meetings with scientists and industry specialists. These events not only facilitate the exchange of scientific ideas and experiences, but also introduce students to the real environment of academic and professional activities.

The club also pays special attention to finding and supporting young talents. Students who actively engage in research and scientific presentations are supported by the department and faculty and are recommended for participation in national and international conferences. In addition, the club organizes short-term training courses, meetings with government officials, representatives of various organizations, and law enforcement agencies, which provide students with practical experience.

The activities of the Crime and Punishment club contribute to strengthening scientific ties and constructive cooperation between teachers and students. This is not only an additional learning tool, but also a true school of science, research, and patriotism. Through its activities, the club promotes the formation of educated individuals with a legal mindset and civic responsibility, fostering a new generation capable of implementing the values of national statehood, human rights, and the rule of law in practice.

In general, the student scientific club “Crime and Punishment” is not only an organizational form of students’ scientific work, but also a lively environment for reflection and the formation of scientific personalities, which significantly contributes to the scientific development of the faculty and the improvement of legal awareness among young people in the field of crime assessment. The student scientific club “Crime and Punishment” at the Department of Criminal Law and Anti-Corruption of the Faculty of Law operates annually and, as one of the important educational and scientific units, significantly contributes to attracting students to research activities and improving the level of education in the field of criminal law. The main goal of the club’s activities is to involve students in scientific research, strengthen their legal awareness, and develop their analytical thinking in the field of criminal law.

Every year, the club holds more than 12 regular meetings, where more than 40 reports are presented and discussed in Tajik, Russian, and English. The topics of the presentations will mainly focus on the prosecution of economic crimes, crimes against security, and others.

Every year, the club organizes scientific and educational events in honor of important national and historical days in the country. In particular, on the occasion of State Independence Day, Constitution Day of the Republic of Tajikistan, President’s Day of the Republic of Tajikistan, and National Flag Day, scientific clubs and festive programs are held, where students actively participate with festive reports and speeches.

Every spring, traditionally in April, the club holds a student scientific conference with the broad participation of faculty members and students. During it, the best reports will be presented and discussed, and active participants will be awarded certificates of honor and books.

Every year, the Crime and Punishment Research Club has more than 35 members, who are elected from among 1st-4th year students. The club’s active members participate in conferences, competitions, and scientific events every year, making valuable contributions to the development of the faculty’s research environment.
