The “International Lawyer” student research club at the Department of International Law, Faculty of Law, Tajik National University, is a key form of extracurricular student research and development. It was established at the initiative of faculty members with the support of the leadership of the Department of International Law, Faculty of Law, with the aim of strengthening the student research environment and creating tangible conditions for the development of young talent in the field of international law.
The club functions as a free forum for scholarly and analytical discussions, where students, under the guidance of experienced faculty, discuss current issues in international public and private law. During these discussions, students not only deepen their theoretical knowledge but also develop analytical, debating, and public speaking skills.
One of the club’s main activities is engaging students in research. Participants choose topics of theoretical and practical significance, conduct research under the supervision of faculty, and present their findings in the form of research articles, reports, and term papers. These activities foster students’ methodological and research skills and develop independence and critical thinking.
Furthermore, the club annually actively participates in organizing student conferences, roundtables, scientific seminars, and meetings with leading scholars and experts in international law. These events facilitate the exchange of scientific ideas, enrich practical experience, and introduce students to real-world scientific and professional activities.
Particular attention is paid to identifying and supporting talented students. Active participants who demonstrate excellence in research and academic work receive support from the department and faculty and are invited to participate in national and international conferences. The club also organizes short-term training courses and meetings with government officials, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international organizations, and law enforcement agencies, all of which contribute to the expansion of students’ practical knowledge and professional horizons.
The International Lawyer’s Club aims to strengthen academic ties and foster collaboration between faculty and students. It is not simply an additional form of education, but a true school of science, research, and patriotism. Through its activities, the Club fosters educated, law-conscious, and responsible citizens capable of realizing national values in the international arena, protecting and promoting the interests of citizens abroad, and implementing the principles of the rule of law.
In general, the International Lawyer student research circle is not only an organizational form of student research, but also a living environment for the development of thinking, the formation of scientific personalities, making a significant contribution to the scientific development of the faculty and raising the level of legal culture among young people.
Every year, the International Lawyer student research club organizes scientific and educational events dedicated to important national and historical dates in the country. Specifically, for Independence Day, the international initiatives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan at the UN, the role of the Tajik leader in strengthening peace in the region and the world, Constitution Day of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Presidential Day of the Republic of Tajikistan, scientific meetings and celebratory programs are held, where students actively present reports and celebratory speeches.
Every spring, traditionally in April, the club holds a student research conference with the wide participation of faculty and students. During the conference, the best reports are presented and discussed, and active participants are awarded certificates of honor and books.
Each year, the International Lawyer’s Research Club brings together over 70 members from first- to fourth-year students. Active members participate in conferences, competitions, and research and practical events, making a significant contribution to the development of the faculty’s research environment.
