The Academic Council is one of the main structures of the Faculty of Law. The activities of the Council are regulated by the Regulation on the “Council of Scientists of the Faculties of Higher Professional Education of the Republic of Tajikistan”, approved by the Resolution of the Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan dated May 26, 2006 No. 18/2. This Regulation has been developed on the basis of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Education”, the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Higher Professional Education and Postgraduate Professional Education”, the “Model Regulation on Institutions of Higher Professional Education of the Republic of Tajikistan” and other regulatory and legal documents in the field of education.
The Academic Council was created under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculty and by order of the Rector of the University to discuss the main issues of educational, scientific and methodological activities and other important issues of the work of the faculty.
The Academic Council includes the dean of the faculty, his deputies, heads of departments, representatives of trade unions, a scientific and methodological council, a women’s council and a council of young scientists.
The main tasks of the Academic Council of the Faculty are:
– combining the scientific and intellectual potential of the faculty and staff in solving problems related to the activities of the faculty;
– implementation of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Education”, the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Higher Professional Education and Postgraduate Professional Education”, “Model Regulations on Higher Professional Educational Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan”, this Regulation and other regulatory legal documents in the field of education of the Republic of Tajikistan;
– practical implementation of orders, instructions and decisions of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, sectoral ministries and departments, higher authorities to ensure the training of highly qualified specialists in the specialties of the faculty;
– assistance in the training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel, the implementation and further development of scientific research, the development of educational, methodological and educational work among students;
– supervision of the implementation of decisions taken.
The Academic Council of the Faculty considers the following issues:
– project plan, educational programs and research work;
– report on the educational, methodological and research activities of the departments;
– applications from teachers for the academic degree of professor and associate professor, submitted in accordance with the established procedure;
– a plan for scientific research, educational work and advanced training of the teaching staff;
– report of the dean of the faculty on educational, methodological, scientific and educational work;
– the status and measures for further improvement of the research work of faculty staff and students;
– summing up the results of educational, upbringing, scientific-methodological and educational-industrial activities of students;
– holding competitions in accordance with the established procedure for vacant teaching staff positions – associate professors, senior lecturers and assistants;
– approval of individual plans of applicants and PhD candidates and annual review of materials for their certification;
– other issues related to the promotion of the faculty’s activities.
